The healing power of dogs is widely known to improve the lives of people in schools, kindergartens, nursing homes, and hospitals. We are extremely proud to train special dogs to perform this meaningful social work across the island.
Our two canine social workers, Bella and Daisy, play a central role in the program. They provide comfort, emotional support, and joy — helping children and adults build resilience, confidence, and well-being through gentle interaction.
A key focus of Dawg Bring Smile is supporting children in schools with learning while also sharing knowledge about animals and responsible care. Through guided visits and hands-on experiences, we help young people develop empathy, respect, and understanding for animals and the environment.
We also welcome school classes to the Animal Lodge, where students can spend a full day learning about animals, nature, and sustainability in a safe and inspiring setting. The lodge becomes a living classroom — allowing children to experience firsthand the special bond between people and animals, and the importance of responsibility and compassion.
Our canine “teaching assistants” are carefully selected and trained for their calm temperament and compatibility with young people.
Together, we can help make Jamaica a place where animals and people grow stronger — side by side.
We are always looking for committed and enthusiastic volunteers. Call us anytime to learn more about opportunities and how you can get involved.
